KWF awarded EXPACT project on Pancreatic Cancer

5 September 2023

We are delighted to announce the commencement of a unique research collaboration among Leiden University Medical Center, VitroScan, and the Centre for Human Drug Research. This collaboration was recently awarded a KWF-Public Private Partnership grant by the KWF-kankerfonds (KWF Kankerbestrijding - Dutch Cancer Society). The project by the collaborative project team of Alex Vahrmeijer is titled: 'Dissecting Drivers of Poor Prognosis to Improve and Tailor the Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer'.

By combining spatial transcriptomics and proteomics with ex-vivo 3D drug testing, we aim to uncover the biological underpinnings of survival and tumor behavior, advancing towards more patient-centered clinical decision-making.

We thank the KWF and all involved in this upcoming project and stay tuned for forthcoming updates on our research progress!
